PRINCEVILLE RESORTS

Kauai's North Shore offers jaw dropping scenery

Kauai   >   Princeville Hotels   >   Coconut Coast Hotels  >   Poipu  Hotels

Princeville Resort  Kauai -
formerly St regis Princeville
Soon to be part of 1Hotel

Located on Kauai's north shore, the iconic St. Regis has an unforgettable view of Bali Hi.   As the property was constructed on a hillside, most every room has a spectacular view.   Even when it rains, the scenery is dramatic.

The very popular  junior suites, which book early,  allow for views from the whirlpool tub through an oversize window that fogs for privacy.  Many honeymooners often split their stays between the verdant tropical mountains of Princeville with the sunny beaches of Poi'pu.  This allows for two different geographical settings without spending travel time traveling to another island.

NOTE:  As of November 2018, this property is no longer part of the St,. Regis collection.   It was purchased form its former owners by Starwood Capital to be rebranded as part 1Hotels.  A $100 million  transformation will take place.  There are currently number 1 Hotels in New York  and South Beach.
UPDATE:  Renovations to commence April 2020.  They are estimated to take a minimum of 18 months.

 Westin Princeville Resort Villas

Perched on prime Princeville real estate 200 feet above the Pacific , this modern villa complex has plenty of curb appeal.  The attractive décor and furnishings are uniform throughout the all of the units,  and include the chain's famous heavenly bed plus a Westin bath.
Guests have perks like a kitchens with a full size fridge, microwave, and appliances, but no stove, and a  washer/dryer.  On site amenities  include a  restaurant,  bar, and a 24 hour reception desk.
The Westin's pool area is expansive, and the verdant foliage is well tended.  It's definitely on of the complex's strong points.
The Westin is very well maintained, and was built in 2008.  On Kauai, that counts as recent construction. If there's a downside here, it is that for the price many units are lacking in the view department.  No comparison to views at 1Hotel down the road.
But note all Hawaii beaches are public.

Hanalei Bay Resort

This sprawling 22 acre resort offers some incredible views of Hanalei Bay.  Accommodations range from hotel rooms to studio, one, and two bedroom condominiums with full kitchens with dishwashers.
Note that association managed studios utilize sofa beds.
For recreation, visitors will find two pools, including the resort's famous lava rock pool.  The highly ranked tennis facilities  here feature 8 courts, though the lavish surrounding scenery may make it hard to keep your eye on the ball.  There are 2 restaurants on property for dining, and two lounges for cocktails.  A shuttle runs throughout the resort.
Best of all the Hanalei Bay Resort is beachfront, adjacent to the
Princeville Resort (former St. Regis).  Not to be confused with the Hanalei Colony, units here are equipped with televisions.
