Meet Oahu

Picture
If you've never been to Hawaii, Oahu is an island many find confusing.  Just remember, Waikiki is a district in the city of Honolulu, on the island of Oahu.  Honolulu is covered on the next page.

Oahu is the third largest island in the state.  You can base yourself in Honolulu. Or for a change of scenery split your visit and spend some time staying on Oahu's unspoiled north shore.  Or there's the tranquil reefs of Ko Olina too, home to several excellent resorts including Disney's Aulani.  We've got the scoop on all of them!

Oahu's North Shore

Turtle Bay Resort Promo Video
Come for the day to experience the north shore beaches.  Don't miss the North Shore's infamous shrimp trucks.  Stop by Haleiwa for some unique Hawaiian souvenirs. And if you're lucky enough to visit  in winter, check out the surfing competitions when the waves are highest.  You can easily reach the north shore on a tour or by car.

The north shore is home to one of Hawaii's most infamous hotels - Turtle Bay.  The hotels design takes full advantage of its location on a point, with dramatic views of the Pacific ocean everywhere you look.  Watersports of every variety, tennis, and horseback riding are available.  You can even take a helicopter flight.

Honeymooners seeking out some privacy will love the the hotel's oceanfront designer cottages.  The entire Turtle Bay Resort  was just refurbished.

Oahu's Ko Olina on the South West Shore

The Lagoons of Ko Olina
The Ko Olina resort complex is 17 miles west of Honolulu airport.  Here you'll find the Four Seasons Resort, Aulani by Disney, the Beach Villas at Ko Olina, and Marriott's Ko Olina Beach Club.

The complex is known for its four lagoons encircled by white sand beaches.  The resort complex is self contained.  Many of the units have full kitchen and dining facilities.  The overall ambiance in Ko Olina is chill, though the hotels here are popular with families.

Honeymooners would do better in Honolulu or the luxurious beachfront Kahala resort, on the other side of Diamond Head.

The Making of Disney's Aulani on Oahu
The stunning Aulani resort is a Hawaiian paradise only Disney could imagine.  It's a Hawaiian cultural experience with a dash of the infamous Disney characters.

The luxurious accommodations feature hotel rooms, suites, or multi-bedroom "villas" with full kitchen and dining facilities.

The ultra cool pools and waterpark facilities are definitely a reason to choose the Aulani by Disney. All of the fantastic entertainment, with the exclusion of the luau, are included in your rate.
