Meet the Big Island

Editor's Note:  Hawaii Island (proper reference) is also known as the Big Island of Hawaii
Explore the diversity of the Big Island on these informative videos.  Pages that follow highlight maps and my hotel profiles with videos of the resorts.  The Big Island is just that, big.  Beaches and attractions are spread out.  Prepare to do lot's of driving.  Hawaii Island's scenery makes it all very worthwhile.

Seismic Sensations

Two of the world's most active volcanoes are located on Hawaii Island.  The Hawaiian islands were actually created by volcanoes, and thus hold a spiritual significance for the people who live on them.

Meet Some Interesting Locals

Actually swimming with sea turtles, spinner dolphins and exotic fish off Hawaii Island is an exhilarating experience you won't soon forget.  Just remember to keep your distance, as you're visiting them in their home.

Rendezvous with the Manta Rays

The gentle manta rays, some with a wingspan of 15 feet, are truly a sight to behold.  You can scuba dive or snorkel to observe their graceful movements.  The most accessible population of Manta Rays in the world make their home off Hawaii Island.

Don't Try This at Home

We've included this great Go Pro video so you can check out Hawaii Island's beauty. Because underwater rock formations may not always be visible, please never go cliff diving unless accompanied by an experienced guide.
